Here's another page I made as part of the WeScrap on-line crop this weekend, Georgetown, CO. Walking the little town streets and taking many photos of the pretty restored victorian homes was one of the highlights. Weather was perfect high in the Rocky Mountains and the setting so hometown. Plus they were all decorating for the 4th of July parade the next day. I have many more photos but here is one home that I also took a closeup of the front door with many antique containers used as flower pots and the beauty of the rustic look.

I'm so glad that WeScrap is having an on-line Scrap tonight - it motivated me to make finally scrap this page about my fun visit with Carla in Denver for the 4th of July! We had such good times visiting Georgetown, celebrating the 4th downtown, sightseeing around Denver's beautiful neighborhoods and enjoying an arts and culinary festival. All that in 2.5 days :) and we could have kept going if I would have stayed longer. I have more pages to remember those great times! Love you, Carla!!

June Birthday Celebration

This is a digital scrapbook page I made to capture the memory of a birthday celebration lunch in honor of my dear friend, Bambi. We dined on an excellent salad and sandwich at Zinc Bistro - Kierlands and as always had a great time talking and sharing about our lives and upcoming plans for the summer. Looking forward to cooler weather and spending more coffee times :~) ....

Surprise From Argentina

As I realize the year 2010 is already have over, I found that I have not created scrapbook pages of my own life since 2008! So I have made a commitment to myself that I will create pages for 2009 and 2010.

So I begin with scrapping my most recent surprise! Our church in Scottsdale, AZ has a sister church relationship with a church in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2004, I was blessed to go and perform community service work. While there, I and 3 other ladies, stayed with the Pasquet family who are the most gracious and loving host family. Over the years, I made a scripture framing and sent it along with another team and also received back a espresso cup with their family name on it and a artist print that I framed. This month our church sent some of our worship team and also our college group to Argentina. I thought after our teams had left for Argentina how I should have sent a gift for the Pasquet's. So after our teams returned last Sunday, our young adults pastor's wife gave me a box of cookies and a family photo that the Pasquet family sent to me! I also learned that they still have my framed scripture on display in their home as I do their Argentina print and family cup! I hope one day to return and see them again and catch up on all that has occurred in our lives. They will always be special to me!

Dates To Remember Booklet

A Special Day....In Memory Of...

At first glance, this may look like just another golf framing but there is much more heart in this keepsake gift than meets the eye.

The story behind this framing is about two brothers and two close friends who played that momentous day in May of 2007. Hole 10 at The Arizona Country Club is the hardest hole on the entire course and all four birdied from the back tee! Any golfer can imagine how excited they all were when that happened!

The story sadly continues as one of the two brothers passes away in June of this year at the young age of 56. It so happens that one of the friends kept the scorecard for over 2 years because of the special memory it held and now holds even more. His idea was to frame the scorecard in celebrating honor of the deceased brother and give it as a gift to the remaining brother and friend. There is much love behind this framing and I was honored to help create this gift that came from the heart of a true friend!

High School Achievements - Shadow Box Framing

I thought it would be timely to post this project that I did in 2008 since it is a time of many graduations. This was done as a gift for a young man who had many achievements in high school that were awarded in the form of plaques, medals, jacket letters and more! His mother wanted them to be framed so that he could take it to college as a reminder of what was accomplished and that more awaited him to achieve!

In this is his High School diploma, several track medals, graduation cap and tassel, Sigma Cum Laude plaque, National Honor Society drape, and Jazz Band and Track letters and bar.

Graduation Card

My youngest niece is graduating from High School tomorrow and I made her this card using a step by step tutorial designed by Jessica Acs. I made this card a little larger than Jessica's design which was to hold a gift card. I used the front inside pocket for my hand-written note card and the back inside pocket for my gift (a check). Tuscany Wedding - Photo Book

A client approached me and asked me to create a wedding photobook for each of her three children. One was married in Arizona, another in Italy and the other in Hawaii. She desired a photobook so that her grandchildren could look through them without the worry of photos and embellishments being taken off the pages. A photobook is sturdy yet small enough for a child to hold in their laps. She also desired to gift copies of the photobooks to others in the extended family so they had the same professional photographs of that special day. A photobook is more economical than a traditional scrapbook when you desire to share the end product with multiple people.

Ancestry Scrapbook - 8 x 8

This 8 x 8 ancestry scrapbook was created for a client in New York who desired to have one after seeing a similar scrapbook that I had made for her sister-in-law. The original idea came from my friend Rosemarie and her husband Bob. In November of 2007, they asked me to make 3 ancestry scrapbooks for them to give as a Christmas gift for each of their 3 children who are grown and have their own lives and families. They had these wonderful old photos and the information to journal about them so they did not want to just keep everything in a box but wanted to share all of this heritage with their own children and then through many generations.

I scanned their original photos, printed copies for the album and provided them with a CD of digital photos for their safekeeping. The photos below are a sampling of the pages from the 20 pages album.

Baby Poem Card

This 8 x 8 baby card was made for the mother-to-be's third baby due May 23rd! I was invited to her first two childrens baby showers and gave with my gift arrangements a handmade card that included a poem that I wrote. I was surprised to see when touring her home that she had subsequently framed each card in a shadow box that was on the wall of each child's room. There was not an occasion for me to make a card for her third baby and she told her mother that she was sad that she did not have a card and poem to frame for her third baby. So her mother hired me to make a card and poem so she would have one to frame!

Baby Shower Card

This is a card that I designed and made for one of my dear friends who just adopted a baby girl and I was attending an open house in honor of their new daughter. I purchased a gift card to give them and wanted a fun and special way to present it because this friend is also an avid scrapbooker and would appreciate all details of a handmade card.

Our African Adventure - 12 x 12 Scrapbook

Again my wonderful friend and her husband and daughter went on another adventure - an African adventure. It was not so much an adventure for her husband because he travels to Tanzania many times during the year to work with the different villages in providing clean water with wells and pumps. This time though my friend and her daughter also went along.

I am showing only a few of the 50 scrapbook pages and their intention is to have this be a coffee-table book where they would describe the events as someone would look through it so that is why there are minimal journal tags.

Encouragement - Scripture Framing

A close friend of mine wanted to give a gift of an encouraging scripture. The scripture she chose was Isaiah 40:31

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

I found a picture of an eagle soaring above the water at sunset and designed this framing around the picture and the scripture. It is an 8 x 10 desk frame for a doctor's office.

I wanted to make a Christmas gift keepsake for my dear friend and her husband of 1 year so I asked them to send me a photo they loved - it could be of anything or anyone so they sent me several to choose from and I didn't tell them which one until I gave them the gift!

I chose the photo and made a digital 8 x 8 scrapbook page which I then matted and framed in a 12 x 12 frame. They loved it!

A Summer In Italy - Scrapbook Album 12 x 12

A special friend and her family were blessed to have the opportunity to spend a summer in Italy. They rented a Tuscan villa and various friends and family groups came at different intervals to share in the fun and relaxation. My friend asked me to create a 64 page scrapbook - a coffee table book - highlighting special moments, people and places. She stored all of their photos in photo albums but she selected a subset for the scrapbook album. She gave the scrapbook album to her husband as a gift and his comment to me was that he was not into scrapbooking but that he really liked this album.

It was so much fun finding scrapbook paper with the "old world" look - to set the photos on backgrounds that made you feel like you were there. I personally felt like I had shared in their experiences in making this album for them!

My Loyal Friend - Digital Scrapbook Page Framing

This is a gift I made for a friend's birthday and she loves it! The photo is of their family dog, "Scraps" (short for Scrappy Doo) that I took while pet sitting him at my home. She and her husband said the photo captures Scraps personality with the expression on his face and the ways his ears are positioned!

This was such a fun project to create and GIVE!

Awards Framing - The Collaboration for a New Century

I had the honor and pleasure of creating framed awards for a wonderful non-profit organization - The Collaboration for a New Century (www.thecollab.org). This organization was founded in 1999 and brings together business leaders in the Phoenix metropolitan area to volunteer for year long partnership as coaches (AZ Leaderforce) to selected non-profit organizations (Blue Ribbon agencies) to help them focus their mission of service in the local Phoenix area.

There were 2 awards that I created - the AZ Leaderforce award given to each volunteer displaying the color ad that was run in the AZ Republic newspaper and the Blue Ribbon agency award that was given to the selected 6 non-profit agencies for 2009.

I made this mini-album to use as a sample of what someone will win as the highest bidder at a pre-school and kindergarten silent auction. I did this for a friend and used her photos of her daughter's 3rd birthday party. It has a covered and embellished cover and holds 10 pages with one photo per page. This was so fun to make!
